Returning Officers Alarmed That Rae Could Be Running Another Feigned Campaign for T4, uncontested

An expose by a concerned subcommittee member.

After being forced to drop his Presidential campaign during the AGM last year, Harry Rae is back again, attempting to land a spot on T4. This year, however, he is running UNCONTESTED for secretary, leaving UQLS general members deeply confused as to if this is a serious campaign, or if he is merely clowning about.

Harold claims that his bid for Secretary is entirely legitimate, citing his desire to reform the election voting scheme. The Obiter, however, questions whether by ‘reform’, he REALLY means mandatory contested elections (he will force people to apply), and replacing one-minute speeches with three-hour debates. Sources tell the Obiter that Mr Rae’s true motive is to be able to intellectually torture first years going for officer positions during question time.

As the Obiter Editor in Chief and Law Revue’s ibis, it is evident that Hazza is no stranger to wearing a red nose and committing to a ‘bit’, evidenced by his satirical run for UQLS President (amongst other things). Consequently, the Obiter cannot confidently report whether his latest T4 ambitions are genuine, or simply another elaborate attempt to make a mockery of student democracy.

Returning Officers Ava Ryan and Melodi Kizil reportedly fear that Haz will once again arrive at the AGM with a trumpet and have threatened to bend it in half and have him removed should he attempt a performance. As a self-proclaimed expert in the election bylaws, the Secretary nominee has dismissed the RO’s as cRAEzy, insisting that such actions would constitute a breach of the electoral procedure. No word yet if the Returning Officers plan on hosting an urgent SGM to yet again, legally dismantle Harrison’s latest T4 conspiracy.

T4 to come?
